AT SMOCA NIGHTS
The Scottsdale
Museum of Contemporary Art [SMoCA] presents "CHILL: Winter SMoCA
Nights" on Thursday, March 3, from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. One of the
Valley's most popular art events, SMoCA Nights brings together artists,
fashion designers, musicians and dancers from throughout Arizona for
an eclectic evening of cutting-edge culture and hip entertainment.
Highlights
of "CHILL: Winter SMoCA Nights" include performances by the
jazz-funk band Sonorous, vocalist and pianist Nicole Pesce, DJ Maji
and the dance company Nebellen. The evening also features a runway show
by Arizona fashion designers Misery by Valentine Ramirez and Kali Lambson,
Sticker Club Girl by Lisa Jacobs, Shame by Chelsey Totten, BOCO by Bonita
Arnold, J'Mi by Jay Chague, Alex Ozers, Van Michael's Collection by
Warren Van Michael Smith, KD Designs by Kristin Dinnis, Angela Johnson
and Rhonda Zayas.
On view
at SMoCA are the exhibitions "Strangely Familiar: Design and Everyday
Life," "Street Credibility" and "Svetlana and Igor
Kopystiansky: Sandglass." As always, guests enjoy free hors d'oeuvres,
a cash bar, Tarot card readings by Ozma, free door prizes and other
rotating surprises. Advance tickets may be purchased by calling 480-994-ARTS

"CHILL:
Winter SMoCA Nights" is organized by the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary
Art and sponsored by My Florist Café and Bar with support from
Desert Living, James Hotel, Java, Labelhorde, Orange Table, Phoenician
Health Group, Phoenix New Times, Phosphor Photography, Robert Saenz,
Swell Pro Audio, Urban Hair and WHERE Phoenix/Scottsdale.
